Our DJ’s hols may finally be over…

Ok, up. We can be right lazy. Hence our lack of action here. But we’re on it again…

Looks like we’re finally back in the game too. Made up to be spinnin’ in ‘ around Notts tahn again.

Next up’s our resi slots at Golden Fleece on Saturday 18th December ’21 then The Angel Microbrewery on Saturday 15th January ’22. Catch us on 3rd Saturday every month. Alt slots monthly into ’22.

We’ve also had a grand time spinning at The Bodega too. Got an irregular resi there too. Nice to mix things up.

We’re still spinning for our Barrel House Radio mukkas. Every other Saturday night, 8-9pm. Been a year long ride so far. Grand to be part of the BHR fam.

Still in very serious times, people. Who know’s where we’re going. Please stay safe. folks.

Last one. Here’s a juicy taste of what we’ve dropped these past months…

We’re back. For a bit.

Lit stage at Bonobo concert

Thought we bung down some lines. Must tighten up that slack.

What we been up to? All sorts for sure. DJ gigs at various places including our usual resi at The Angel Microbrewery, some great sessions at Broadway Cinema, The Golden Fleece and others besides.

Recent standouts were a massive Notts Pride ’18 in July (3 slots that day!) and two fundraising sessions in June for Framework – The Get Down with NG83 crew and The Big Spin arranged by Synthetic Pro Audio fellas. Fantastic to be part of all those special bashes.

Also been to some crackin’ gigs in the last few months. Bonobo at Ally Pally, London and A Certain Ratio at Hare and Hounds, Brum. Yep, A Certain Ratio. Both were amazing for very different reasons. Still buzzin’ from those…

Got some long overdue downtime time coming up but we’ll shoehorn our August Angel resi sesh in before that. We’ll be back there in early September too.  We’re also doing a tight dub ‘n reggae slot at the special Punk It Up Rock Against Racism event on September 15th at Rough Trade Nottingham. Really looking forward to that one. Gonna be special, we reckon.

That’s it. Social’s where we make our real noise day in, day out. More fun too. Join us there for a right old chin wag if you fancy.

‘Til next time…

Spring time vibes incomin’…

Selectadisc celebration day

How do. Time for a periodic post thingy. Been ages.

Several months into 2018, how the devil are y’all? Hope y’all well. Just about recovered from Record Store Day in April. Spun loads of fine wax at Rough Trade Nottingham and The Golden Fleece for that one. Possibly the biggest RSD in Notts tahn yet.

Done other fun bits too like playing at the Broadway for a very special Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds themed night. That first Selectadisc celebration at Ugly Bread Bakery few months back was sound as well. Great vibes.

That time of year so we’ve got sweet DDS things stacking up as spring and summer kicks in. Our usual first Friday night monthly resi at The Angel Microbrewery; a special late May bank holiday boogie ‘n disco sesh at The Golden Fleece; soundtracking this year’s Secret Garden Fair for Sherwood Art Week in June. Notts Pride’s happening in July time too. Hoping to be part of that again. Always a cracking day out in the city.

Proper updates on all that and more over at our social gubbins. Plugged into here too. Sorted. Got more mixtapes up at Evermix and Mixcloud. Dip in, why doncha.

Steamin’ summer, that was…

Pride at Broadway July 2017

What a crackin’ summer of DirtyDiscoSoundsystem gigs!

Shout outs to The Angel Microbrewery, Broadway Cinema, Blackwoods Scouts, Rough Trade Nottingham, Sherwood Arts Week ‘n Stiff Kittens crews. Massive thanks, people – we had a right blast. Big nods to everyone who bopped at our sessions, said hi ‘n requested some tunes (even all the dodgy ones!). Nice one, folks.

Next up’s our usual first Friday each month resi at The Angel Microbrewery on 6th October. Then back again on 3rd November and 1st December. Different vibe each night. Pop along, take in a brew and maybe have a bar space boogie too. Just be grand to see you.

May be a few other things DDS-wise happening as well. We’ll keep you posted on all that.

Nearly summer time, ain’t it?

Wotcha. We’ve been out ’n about a bit lately and there’s more to come too.

First off, cheeky thanks to everyone who bopped ’n hung out at The Angel Microbrewery on 5th May. Punk Post Disco vibe, that night. Steaming time, folks. We’re back there again on Friday 2nd June. Mixed Crate Disco sesh pulling in all sorts of cuts.

We made up to be back at Rough Trade Nottingham on Saturday 20th May. Early doors beats ’n treats family friendly 2 ’til 6 sesh. Dropping all sorts. Been nearly two years since our first slot in the cafe bar space so we’ve chuffed to be still spinning there. Nods to Kyle and his crew for their ongoing support. Nice one.

Here’s a new one too. We’ve been asked to spin tunes at Sherwood Art Week’s Secret Garden Fair on Saturday 24th June. If you’ve ever been you’ll know the format. We’ll be playing rock ’n’ roll, r ’n’ b, jazz and more from 11am till 6pm. Hope it’s sunny that day.

Maybe see you soon, then.

Even managed to shoehorn cheeky visits to the Independent Label Market at Spitalfields and SpiritLand, a lush new listening bar in Kings Cross. Right fancy.

Been droppin’ tunes at The Angel Microbrewery for our first Friday each month residency as usual. Great fun. Next sesh on Friday 5th May is gonna have a Post Punk Disco kinda vibe. Long over due sesh, that one. Looking forward to it.

We also had a proper blast playing wax on Record Store Day ’17. We were lucky enough to play at Rough Trade Nottingham, The Bodega and The Angel Microbrewery. Busy one, then. Good to see Hockley ’n Notts buzzin’ so much that day. We even bought a few records too.

One more. Not forgetting our annual all-day sesh at Blackwood Scouts Beer Festival on Saturday 8th July. Big one, that. Spinnin’ all day from 2pm ’til 9pm or so. Hope it’s sunny, people…
