Would’ve been our 5th year spinnin’ Notts Pride wax at Broadway Cinema, JamCafe and other fab Notts tahn places.
Getting cancelled was such a big blow but we’re all got bigger things to worry about.
Doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate safely by getting stuck in at home and other choice gaffs. Physically distanced, of course…
If ya need some juicy Notts Pride tunes to get the party going, blag some of our special Notts Pride mixtapes over at mixcloud.com/dirtydiscosoundsystem. Few different flavas to choose from – or just nab ’em all.
Whatever ya doing to celebrate Notts Pride, have a damn filthy, fun time. Keep yaselves safe too.
What a crackin’ summer of DirtyDiscoSoundsystem gigs!
Shout outs to The Angel Microbrewery, Broadway Cinema, Blackwoods Scouts, Rough Trade Nottingham, Sherwood Arts Week ‘n Stiff Kittens crews. Massive thanks, people – we had a right blast. Big nods to everyone who bopped at our sessions, said hi ‘n requested some tunes (even all the dodgy ones!). Nice one, folks.
Next up’s our usual first Friday each month resi at The Angel Microbrewery on 6th October. Then back again on 3rd November and 1st December. Different vibe each night. Pop along, take in a brew and maybe have a bar space boogie too. Just be grand to see you.
May be a few other things DDS-wise happening as well. We’ll keep you posted on all that.
After a rollicking Blackwoods Scouts’ beer fest session earlier this month, we’re made up to be back in spinning action on Saturday 30th July. This time we’re dropping some leftfield disco (and more) at the rebooted Angel Microbrewery, Hockley for Notts Pride ’16.
We’ve got the 6 ’til 9pm slot in the downstairs bar. Sweet one, we reckon. The Notts Pride party will be in full flow and the sun should be setting as we hand over the dex over. Lovely.
We’re truly gutted to say this but our #PrideJamm after-party at The Lord Roberts on Saturday 25th July has been cancelled due to health and safety concerns on punter numbers from Nottingham City Council licensing people. Nice of them.
They’ve instructed Shaun and his pub crew to rigidly cap people numbers during their day long Nottinghamshire Pride celebrations. And they’ve killed our after-party DJ slot too. We’ve tried to address all their concerns but they’re just not budging.
So what does this now mean? The Lord Roberts is still a fab place to celebrate Notts Pride on Saturday but we won’t be spinning tunes to give it a celebratory disco party vibe.
We’re trying to sort a post-Pride party there in the near future to make up for it. We’ll keep you posted on that one.
Before then, do have a bleedin’ good time on Saturday if you’re joining in the Notts Pride fun. And don’t forget to say hello if you see us having a few cheeky beers at The Lord Roberts that night…
